Prepare to relive your childhood with Singapore Art Museum’s (SAM) newest gallery, dedicated to touching the hearts and minds of art lovers from all walks of life!
Called the Learning Gallery, SAM’s new space will be located on Level 1 of the museum’s Gallery 2 and will be open to the public from July 20 to June 29, 2025. It will feature five artworks by notable local and regional artists, specially selected to give visitors a new perspective on broader issues through contemporary art.

Some artworks to see include Tang Da Wu’s “SEMBAWANG,” an installation art inspired by the tok-tok bird and Nguan’s “Untitled,” which features a series of photographs capturing the quiet, everyday scenes in Singapore.
Visitors can also look forward to an array of interactive areas, including a library equipped with plush bean bags, where they can read and browse from a selection of books related to art. There’s also an interactive wall with a screen that allows guests to play with and move around shapes to create their own artwork.

Near the exit, there’s also a response wall that encourages visitors to write letters to themselves or express their feelings after exploring the gallery through writing.

To celebrate its opening, everyone is invited to join in on the Opening Carnival, happening on July 20 from 10 AM to 4 PM. Here, visitors can enjoy art activities, traditional games, snacks, and more surprises for the whole family.
SAM’s Learning Gallery is open to all for free, so make sure to bring the whole family! To learn more about it, visit SAM’s website.
