Japan’s cherry blossom or ”sakura” season blooms in late March to April. It is popular because it symbolises the season of spring – a period of renewal.
For Singapore residents hoping to catch a glimpse of these billowy pink and white blooms, look no further! The Trumpet Tree (Tabebuia rosea) is budding with pink and white flowers due to heavy rains following the summer season.
On March 24, the National Parks Board shared on Facebook a series of photos featuring these blossoming trees. These include several nature spots, namely the KPMG Wellness Garden at East Coast Park, along the Singapore River, and at Bishan Street 13.
The flowers will likely last a few days before wilting, so be sure to visit while you still can and snap some photos that will make you feel like you’re in Japan.
