Ready for something crunchy, savory, and meaty? If you are, great news! Tonshou, a beloved tonkatsurestaurant from Busan, South Korea, has landed in Singapore.
Known as the world’s first charcoal-grilled tonkatsu restaurant, Tonshou has officially opened their doors along Tras Street in Tanjong Pagar, bringing their smokey and delicious dishes to foodies in the city. The restaurant is currently in its soft opening phase, with a grand opening scheduled on Dec. 20 this year.
At the restaurant, guests can look forward to various meal sets featuring their signature charcoal-grilled katsu. This includes the classic Katsu Combo Set (S$32), made with hire (pork fillet), rosu (pork loin), and ebi (shrimp); and the limited Berkshire Special Rosu Katsu Set (S$37), made with a special pork loin cutlet — all served with rice and sides.
Customers can also order sides such as curry (S$5), shrimp tempura(S$5), and pork minced cutlet (S$6). To celebrate its opening, the restaurant is also giving away two katsu sets and drinks each to three lucky winners. Winners will be announced on Dec. 20. For the full mechanics, click here.
