Spanning six themed zones, the exhibition takes visitors on an immersive journey through HSBC’s rich past and forward-looking vision.

The experience kicks off in “The Journey Begins” zone, with a recreation of a 1980s reception, complete with the iconic uniforms of the time and marble-like counters — a nod to an era defined by fashion-forward elegance and exceptional service.

The journey continues with “A Vault of Legacy” zone, inspired by the 50-tonne vault located in the HSBC Main Building. Behind its reimagined vault doors lies a collection of rare artefacts from the HSBC Archives — including the bank’s original share certificate from 1865, early customer account ledgers, and historic passbooks that chronicle decades of trust and continuity.

Next is “The Money Aquarium” zone, where origami sea creatures made from HSBC banknotes glide through a digital seascape — a creative tribute to the flow of currency and its cultural impact.

This is followed by the “Banking Through the Ages” and “1 Queen’s Road Central” zones, where generations of HSBC counters and HSBC Main Building are meticulously recreated to give a glimpse into the bank’s growth alongside Hong Kong’s transformation from trading port to global financial hub.

Here, visitors can contribute to a living digital installation, contributing to HSBC’s story.
