Hong Kong’s Cathay Pacific makes it to the list of the world's 25 best airlines in 2024, airline safety and product rating platform AirlineRatings.com announced.
In the list released by the platform, Cathay Pacific placed third, just behind flag carriers Qatar Airways and Korean Air. The airline went up six spots after ranking ninth in last year’s list.
Other airlines included in the ranking are Air New Zealand, Emirates, Air France, All Nippon Airways, Etihad Airways, Qantas, Virgin Australia/Atlantic, Vietnam Airlines, and Singapore Airlines.
This year’s top airline rankings were determined based on 12 categories, including safety and product ratings, profitability, passenger reviews, fleet age, and innovation, among others. These were drawn from audits of aviation's governing bodies, lead associations, and the airline’s own safety data.
Meanwhile, AirAsia earned the top low-cost airline in Asia nod, while Air New Zealand won the Best Premium Economy award. Qatar Airways and Singapore Airlines also won the Best Business Class and Best First Class for 2024 recognitions, respectively.
