Following reports of “The White Lotus’” filming in Thailand for its third season, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has further confirmed that the Land of Smiles will indeed be the prominent set for the Emmy Award-winning anthology.
In an announcement posted on TAT’s website and social media pages, the organisation has unveiled that they have teamed up with HBO for the development of the show’s third season.
According to the announcement, filming will begin in February in three of Thailand’s most vibrant regions: Bangkok, Phuket, and Koh Samui.
Thai actors Dom Hetrakul and Tayme Thapthimthong also join the cast, along with American actresses Leslie Bibb, Michelle Monaghan, Carrie Coon, Parkey Posey, and English actor Jason Isaacs.
Commenting on the partnership, Janet Graham Borba, executive vice president of production for HBO & Max, said, “We are pleased to partner with the Tourism Authority of Thailand to execute Mike’s creative vision and showcase all that the beautiful country of Thailand has to offer, as the next group of guests check in to the White Lotus.”
“The White Lotus” is a dark comedy-drama anthology created by Mike White for HBO. The series premiered its first season in 2021, which was shot in Hawaii. It follows the story of the employees of the fictional White Lotus resort and the dark truths behind their seemingly perfect guests.
